History
Simply Innovation was founded by Laura Hollister in 2008 and is headquartered in Niles, Michigan. Our first product, the PedSling, was born out of necessity while Nathan, the inventor’s special needs son, was recovering from a broken wrist. Given a conventional arm sling, Nathan wiggled and manipulated it until he was able to use his broken wrist to push himself from a sitting to a standing position. His injury simply would not heal – until he began wearing a sling designed and made by his mother. Encouraged by Nathan’s doctor to patent it, the inventor refined the design and conducted further testing on children whose parents had seen Nathan’s sling. The design proved popular with the children, their parents, and their doctors. The popularity of the design led to the eventual development of other products in the SI lineup.
